kittens and knitting

These photos are gorgeous of a cat and a knitting project from the blog wikstenmade. I'm actually attempting a sock project right now as well, but have been stuck on the heel for a week...hoping to finish the socks before Christmas! We'll see if that happens. Here are some pictures of my adorable cat Max too.

I wish I was in Amsterdam...

Trying to stay upbeat is a bit challenging in Vancouver right now with the dark mornings, early evenings, ice coated sidewalks and the sudden blizzards of snow. While waiting at a dark cold bus stop on the corner of Burrard and Georgia at 7:30 am this morning, I reminisced about the fabulous trip Heather and I went on two years ago to visit Carolynn and John in Europe. We flew to Amsterdam where we stayed at Carolynn's flat for a couple days before road tripping down to Megeve, a small ski village close to Mont Blanc on the Switzerland France boarder. Here are some pictures of the adventures we went on that I wish I could travel back in time and re-enjoy (even the jet lagged moments!).

 I found heaven!

Have a relaxing weekend!

This weekend, Ross and I are going to Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa for a getaway! My parents bought a gift certificate at a silent auction for 2 nights stay in the 'East Wing,' a couples massage, dinner in the 'Copper Room,' and breakfast buffet both mornings! Oh and unlimited access to the adult pool!! I am unbeleiveably pumped! Its our early christmas present :)

Care took me out for lunch in Kerrisdale yesterday afternoon and surprised me with a manicure appointment afterwards. Th place we went to was  called She to Shic,an eco-friendly salon and their nail products are all vegan. I am getting so so spoiled by my family! What a start to a great weekend.

I hope yours is just as relaxing and enjoyable!

Music as Medicine

This is a great talk on how music can help people who are suffering from schizophrenia and other mental disabilities. I also love how he plays Bach's #1 Cello Suite Prelude at the end of the talk, one of my favourite cello pieces, which sounds better on the cello of course :)

Sound of Music at Saints

Fiona is in Saint Georges' Musical the Sound of Music which is performing this week. The whole fam went to see it last night and she was fabulous! She played the mean nun Sister Berthe and had an amazing dead pan expression I couldn't stop laughing everytime she came on stage. I especially liked her line calling Maria "A flibbertijibbet!" in the song, 'How do you solve a problem like Maria.' Way to go Fif so proud!! I love this Musical and it was so awesome seeing it live in the theatre. Saints did an amazing job at the set it looked so so professional. It was also nice to go back to Saints and to the theatre where Heath and I performed in Oliver and the Fiddler on the Roof back in our high school days.
