although empty picture frames on walls mildly creep me out, I LOVE this bedspread and bedframe! So colourful and cozy looking.

phone calling website!

Wow this is fabulous! If only I knew of this website when I was living in the Richmond House, my roommates would have been much less annoyed with me! When you can't find your phone in your bedroom or house (which happens to me a lot) you type in your number in the boxes then the website calls your phone! its genius. click here to check it out

Tofino-Surf Town Canada

The link will take you to a slideshow captured by photographer Evan Mitsui of Tofino's 2010 Cold Water Classic. I was able to visit Tofino for the first two days of the competition during Thanksgiving weekend and it was a fabulous event. Can't wait to go back to this beautiful place on Nov 12!

Halloween cookies!

these are the witches fingers Heath and John made this weekend. Turns out they are savory pizza dough-esque instead of shortbread! Not as delicious although just as creepy looking!
These are the cookies Rae and I made last week. mmm they were soo good everyone ate them up fast!

weekend of wizards and wisdom

So I went to Victoria this weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Although the Island holds some of my most favourite people hostage, the hour and a half ferry ride over makes me all the more excited to reunite with their pretty faces. This weekend was exquisitely special. I hopped on the 9 ferry and was in downtown Vic before I knew it. With my backpack on my shoulders, I walked down to Lucky Bar where all my lovelies were lining up to get into the WZRDZ and Humans show. Victoria has a vibe Vancouver will never be able to achieve since it is a small University town. Pretty much everyone at Lucky Bar was a UVic student and I felt as if the majority of the people were friends or friends of friends. We all rocked out hard to the fabulous music and (Ross and I especially!) got really sweaty on the dance floor. Sometimes the most spontaneous trips where there are no expectations are the best.

My Mamas Birthday Cake

Finally we managed to organize a time that works for everyone in the Fam to celebrate our Mama's Birthday! I was in charge of making the Birthday Cake and luckily I had time since I quit my job at Nandos! :)

Wanted the cake to be very special and memorable, so I decided to make Nigella Lawson's 'Autumnal Birthday Cake.' It was everything Nigella said it would be and everyone enjoyed it (unless they're lying! Actually they have to enjoy it or pretend to because they're family! haha...) Oh how I love Nigella Lawson! xox
This is Nigella's photo of the cake
